February 14 is just a few days away. Without a doubt the most annoying, Hallmark holiday there is. However, instead of being negative about it if you're in the single club like me, embrace it. Do as Leslie Knope does and celebrate Galentine's Day. Here's what she has to say about it: "What's Galentine's Day? Oh, it's only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and just kick it breakfast style. Ladies celebrating ladies." I suppose if you also have a lot of amazing guy friends you may celebrate with them as well. It's a fantastic idea and one I can't wait to execute. Besides celebrating the best friends in your life, you should also celebrate you. Look at you! You're surviving the winter, (hopefully) going to work everyday and just living your life day by day. What's not to celebrate about that? You are amazing !! It's time to treat yo self or if you're feeling really nice, treat yo friends.
How does one treat themselves you ask? Anyway you want! Manicure. Pedicure. Burger. Take a sick day. Or do what I will do and treat yo self to a nice little present just for you. Something you don't really need but want. Those new rag&bone jeans you've been lusting after or some Sam Edelman booties. Want a gorgeous dress but have nowhere to wear it? Get it. Throw the budget out just for one day and splurge on something for yourself or your best friend. Sure, these things cost money but don't you think you deserve it? Trust me, you do.
Here are some things I would love to treat myself with--some I can afford now and some in about...10 years or possibly never (please feel free to steal these ideas and buy a little something nice for yourself!):
1. High Waisted Woolen Skirt in Yellow
2. Uniqlo Striped Dress (also comes in navy and black!)
3. Burberry London "Sandbeck" Coat
4. Peach Blossom Midi Skirt in Navy
5. Sole Society "Quentin" Vegan Leather Bucket Bag
6. Dolce Vita "Helena" Heel
7. Chicnova Daisy Print Dress
8. Eberyjey "Delirious"Triangle Bralette
9. Rebecca Minkoff "Sava" Studded Sandals
10. rag&bone Justine Jeans in Harrow
11. Rebecca Minkoff "Mini Mac" Crossbody Bag
12. Topshop "Almighty" Suede Ankle Boot
Do you celebrate Galentine's or Treat Yo Self Day? If you don't, it's time to join us cool kids and start celebrating! What will you get yourself this year? Let me know in the comments! Happy Shopping!

Beat the Winter Blues: Adding Color to Escape the Cold
While browsing through Instagram and my favorite stores this week, I noticed one thing they all had in common: everyone is ready for spring. Every shop window and online photo is filled with bathing suits, shorts and rompers. Every email I get is for the unveiling of the new spring/summer collection and the date it's going on sale. Seeing all this made me giddy for warmer weather and almost made me forget it was 10 degrees outside. Side note to the fashion world: it's still freezing, please do not stop selling sweaters and jeans and gorgeous coats for at least three more months.
The second I wake up in the morning, I am already dreading walking out the door and bearing the cold weather and I know I am not alone in this. However, as much fun as it is to moan and complain about the cold, instead lets just try and embrace it while we can and find a way to beat these terrible winter blues. Aside from going to happy hours to warm us from the inside out, try adding bright pops of colors to your wardrobe on top of your usual black and neutral tones. True, this won't make the cold any warmer, but it will remind you of a warmer time and adding a bright color can help brighten your mood.
Whether it's a bag, flats, or even just a gorgeous bra, try incorporating a dash of color into your wardrobe tomorrow and see if it helps you add a bit of sunshine into your day.
Here are some great additions to add to your daily wardrobe that will give your outfit some vibrancy:
1. Wolverine Josette Oxford
2. Purple Cable Knit Sweater
3. Madewell Pink Bralette
4. Choie's Peach Coat
5. Vintage Laser Cut Purse
6. Mango Dress (also in red!)
7. A Day in Your Shoes Flat in Rouge
8. Bigsby Pom Pom Beanie
9. Lydell NYC Floral Stud Earrings
10. Sole Society Stud Earrings
11. Plaid Scarf
12. Uniqlo Striped Oxford
13. Blue Crossbody Bag
I hope these items have given you an idea of how you would like to add some color into your winter wardrobe. What do you think of adding a bold color to your wardrobe? Which piece is your favorite? Let me know in the comments? Please let me know if you want more options or if something is sold out, I am happy to help you hunt down more colorful items! Happy shopping!

SAG Awards Style: Who Nailed It?
It is officially my favorite time of the year: awards season. The Critics', People's and Globes are out of the way making room for the SAG awards last night. Anyone who knows anything knows that the people who win at the SAG awards are most likely to win the Oscar. This is not always true but it is about 90% of the time. More importantly than who won what is what people allowed their stylists' to dress them in for the show. Awards outfits thus far have been lackluster and bland. There are only so many strapless gowns (Sofia Vergara, I am talking to you) and Grecian type dresses that can be worn. This post is about those who stepped outside of the box (or at least toed the line) and tried something a little bit different.
Here are the stars whose stylists' convinced them to take a risk and in doing so, they looked amazing:
Keira Knighley finally managed a great awards season red carpet appearance in this purple Erdem dress. I am all about comfort, and totally understand Keira wanting to be comfortable while pregnant but it is no excuse for the horrendous outfits she has been choosing as of late. However, all is forgiven with this dress. It fits her perfectly and the little extra overlay of lace across her stomach is a subtle reminder that she is expecting a little one-and still looking better than all of us!
Maisie Williams, also known as Arya, the, kick-ass, superior Stark, looked amazing in a Self Portrait dress for the awards. This gorgeous, red lace dress is the perfect choice for Maisie. It's in an eye catching color, looks comfy, and best of all- she won't be tripping on a long train! I love the raw hemline and how it flows to a stop perfectly above her shoes. Some may say it's not dressy enough for the SAG Awards but I disagree. She pulls it off perfectly and her gold heels add a bit of glitz to the outfit. Plus it's 70 degrees in LA! Who wants to be wearing some tight, satin contraption all night?!
I adore Modern Family which means I also love Julie Bowen. What's not to love about her? She's hilarious, well-dressed and a bit quirky in her interviews. Here she is wearing a Georges Hobeika Couture embellished dress. The detailing on this dress is fantastic and must have taken hours to complete. I applaud her for choosing something more demure and lady-like. During awards season it's a constant battle of who can show the most cleavage or whose dress slit is the highest. It's refreshing to see Julie choose something that looks great on her without having her boobs out or a slit up her thigh. Stay classy, Julie!
Everyone reading this knows how much I adore Emma Stone. She is the coolest and if you disagree, go to another blog please! When I first saw this Dior Couture look, I loved it. It's stunning on her and definitely different than anything I have seen her in on a red carpet. The tuxedo dress in itself is amazing but the sheer skirt with the long train and red lips add a touch of old Holly wood glamour a la Grace Kelly. Emma is never afraid of wearing something unexpected and this look is no different. I can't wait to see what spectacular creation she will deem to let on her for the Oscars.

What do you think of these SAG awards outfits? Any you despise or want to try and recreate for yourself? Who do you think was best dressed? Let me know in the comments!

Keira also had a fantastic hair and makeup team for her look. I like that her hair and makeup (minus a great smoky eye) were kept simple so that all of our attention was on the gown. She looks completely elegant and that killer diamond ear cuff gives a little edge to her look.
Sarah Hyland is getting so much flack for this custom Vera Wang Collection number that I just do not understand. Sure, I am not crazy about the cream layer under the black tulle overlay, but I have to give her kudos for wearing something original and rocking it. It's nice to not see her in just your typical, strapless, A-line gown. The intricate detailing of the gems on the top of the dress add some color and make the gown pop. I love her subtle, metallic eye makeup and simple up do. Too many times young stars wear copious amounts of makeup (maybe a bid to look older? ) and contour their faces to death, but as Sarah proves, sometimes less is more.
