Yays and Nays : Celebrity Style This Week

Hello! The end of the week means it's that time again to judge other people's fashion choices. Ready or not here we go!

Here are the style stars for the week. The people who made great fashion choices and rocked them:

Stars

(From top left: Emmy Rossum,  Jessica Chastain, Rihanna, Diane Kruger)

Emmy Rossum- First up is the amazingly talented Emmy Rossum ( Shameless, anyone?). Besides being an incredible actress, Emmy has some serious street style game. Here she is on her way into the airport in a picture perfect outfit. I adore her dress and as soon as I ID it, I will need it in my closet. The shape is flattering on her and the length is perfect for a lunch date or a chilly flight. I love the different colored stripes. Instead of the usual black and white, it is black with a light teal with another smaller white line in that. If you've been reading my blog, you know oxfords are my go to flats. I adore the navy patent leather ones Emmy has on here. They go great with the dress and prove you can wear black and navy together successfully. From the bag to  the dress to the shoes I  have no complaints, I want it all!

Jessica Chastain- Who doesn't love Jessica?! Here she is being honored at the Deauville Festival for her career achievements. She is killing it in this Oscar de la Renta dress. While pink is not my favorite color, it looks great on Jessica. The details on the dress are fantastic. Metallic gold and silver leaves and  flowers blending in with rainbow ones are all scattered down the front on the dress. The blend of colors all together on top of the pink flow smoothly and look stunning. As an added bonus, there are pockets! Who doesn't love a dress with pockets? . She makes it work so well. On the shoe front, she is wearing some killer ( quite literally) gold Christian Louboutin heels. Her makeup looks fantastic. The red lip and smoky eye look help complete this look. Also, check out those adorable butterfly earrings!

Rihanna- This is definitely a more demure outfit than I am used to seeing on Rihanna. This buttoned Adam Selman dress and all her white accessories (especially the long strand of pearls!) make her look angelic. We all know bad gal Riri is still underneath but I love that she wore something less risque for a change. Her minimal accessories (minus the new {maybe fake} hand tattoo) make you focus on her outfit and flawless bronze smokey eye. Cheers to this outfit Rihanna!

Diane Kruger- Diane is hands down one of the best dressed people in the world whether on the red carpet or off. She can and does pull off any look. This simple but elegant Prada dress looks as if it was tailor made for her and goes great with the Prada shoes she is wearing. Her very minimal accessories make you focus on her. The best part of her outfit is the gorgeous rose headband she is wearing. It is difficult to pull off  a headband and most people can't (but sadly still do) but of course Diane looks fantastic. This may not be the most" WOW" outfit of the bunch but it goes to show that you can choose something seemingly simple but make it your own and look incredible.

Here are the people who forgot what good clothes look like:

Fails

(From top: Lena Dunham, Toni Garrn, Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum)

Lena Dunham-  Lena, I know grunge is supposedly back but I think this outfit needs to be tucked way, way back in the depths of your closet and never brought back out again. When I saw it, I wasn't surprised because Lena tends to make terrible fashion choices( the Emmys, anyone?). Although I do like the neutral black and white palette, it is just an unflattering look. The dress is shapeless and the bow is obviously too big and garish. It looks like someone just stapled on a big piece of ribbon and didn't even try to make the bow even.  And really Lena, you couldn't iron the dress before you went out? How lazy. The shoes are heinous. There is no other word. Flatforms should not be in existence and should all be done away with forever. Anyone caught in them should have to pay a fine. They are bulky and do not look good on  feet.

Pros: The plaid coat is great and perfect for fall.

Toni Garrn- I'm glad you're happy with your outfit Toni, because you're the only one smiling. Showing your granny panties through your outfit is never a good look. The sheer skirt is one thing but with the completely cut out top it is too much. I do not approve of seeing your underwear through an outfit and never will. Keep it in your pants please! The top of the dress looks like someone shredded it with a potato peeler. Not a good look.

Pros: Love the red lip and heels.

Kim Kardashian-  Honestly, when I first saw this outfit I cringed and then laughed a little because it is so ridiculous and so Kim K. Kim, I understand you married Kanye but  please, stop letting him dress you. This outfit is atrocious. First of all: boobs. I can almost see nipple! Inappropriate for the red carpet. The cut of the leather bodysuit is god awful ,it looks like the eyes of a fly.  Secondly, the skirt is worn right underneath her chest which is not a flattering cut off point for her stature. It makes her look shorter and her hips look ginormous. Kim, please go back to a few years ago when you dressed somewhat tolerably.

Pros: Hair and makeup are flawless as usual.

Heidi Klum- I do not know why you are smiling Heidi. You're a supermodel with endless amounts of beautiful clothes and this is what you chose to wear in public? There is a cut off age for wearing crop tops and sadly, Heidi is way past that.  This outfit looks like it was handmade and not in the great custom made way. It looks like the end result of her kids' art project. It does absolutely nothing for the model figure she has underneath. The top ( if she just had to keep it) would look far better tucked into some denim shorts and the skirt would look better in the trash. Auf Wiedersehen to this outfit!

Pros: None

What do you think of these outfits? Would you wear or burn any of them? Let me know in the comments!
