Do You Dare to Wear White?

We have all heard the old rule "no white after Labor Day." However, sometimes it's good to be a rebel and break the rules! Wearing white in the fall is completely acceptable and can look great. A lot of summer pieces you already own can seamlessly transition from summer to fall. There are two things to remember when wearing white in fall: 1. Always be aware of  what material you are wearing (no linen or see through cotton in fall). and 2. Always dress up your white with seasonably appropriate accessories. Below I have chosen three simple, perfectly fall outfits.I have also given links to similar items that can work with each outfit in case something has sold out. Everything is affordable ( $100 or less!) and each outfit is suitable for work or happy hour. What else do you need?!

Nothing beats a lace dress! If you don't own one, get out and buy one right now. They work for every season ( yes, including winter!Hello, tights!) and can be found in many flattering shapes. The denim jacket and booties give the dress the perfect fall factor and help it look more seasonably appropriate.

Denim Jacket(a closet staple!): AE, $50 (12)

Lace Dress: Reverse,  $60  (1,  2,  3,  4)

Boots: AE, $60  (12,  3,  4)

Nothing beats curling up in a nice chunky white sweater. This one can be thrown on top of some skinny jeans or a skirt . Here, the dark ink of the skinny work with the white as darker jeans are worn more in fall. As for shoes, I love oxfords and in my opinion they go with anything. The cognac is fantastic and helps tie this outfit together. This is a great outfit and easy to put on before dragging yourself( well hopefully you love your job, so maybe skipping is a better term) to work in the morning.

Sweater: Mango, $50 (1, 2, 3)

Oxfords: Lotus, $100  (1, 234)

Jeans: Miss Selfridge, $65  (12)

White shirts are classic and timeless and work for all four seasons. Here, my idea is to tuck the button up into the jeans, put on the flats and necklace and BAM! you're ready to go. So simple, easy and yet still chic. Black jeans are a must for everyone. They make everything you are wearing a little bit dressier. Ballet flats should be in your closet. If you do not have a pair I am ashamed of you! They are found in mainly every store and are one of the easiest shoes, along with oxfords, to match with everything in your closet. This outfit would be a bit drab with no accessories, so I added a fun necklace to give it a pop of color and fun.

Shirt:Delia's, $25  (1, 2)

Jeans: House of Fraser, $66  (12)

Flats: Mango, $40  (123)

Necklace: Lipsy, $33

I hope these outfits have given you some inspiration to add white to your fall wardrobe!
